Orchard Hill, and New Hampshire in general, is a portion of the land known by the Abanaki nation as N'Dakinna, which means Homeland. It comprises an area that goes from Quebec in the north to Massachusetts in the south and from Maine in the east to New York in the west. Indigenous people have been living on this land for more than 12,000 years.

We are living, working, and playing here on N'Dakinna the unceded, stolen, ancestral, traditional land of the Abenaki people, currently known as the Koasek Traditional Band of the Sovereign Abenaki Nation. We are grateful for this land and have great respect for those who have loved and cared for it past, present, and future. We acknowledge that many of us are on this land because of violence and settler colonialism. We recognize that this land acknowledgement is a small but necessary step toward justice.
